CCM Health is excited to welcome Jane Wrede, PhD, APRN, CNM, the organization’s third midwife, to its growing list of providers. Jane attended Minnesota State University in Mankato, MN where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree for nursing. She then attained her Master’s of Science with a specialty in Nurse-Midwifery from the University of Minnesota. Jane also earned a Ph.D. in Nursing through South Dakota State University with a research focus on Reproductive Health. Jane, who previously worked at CCM Health in 2006, specializes in midwifery care.
Jane began her journey to become a nurse-midwife when she was 10 years old on a farm caring for her family pets. As time passed, having her own children helped Jane recognize her passion for helping women reach their optimal health. After 25 years in the field, Jane has found that for some women, part of their optimal health and reproductive goal is to become a mother. “The journey through pregnancy and birth is a time when women can be empowered and gain confidence in their ability to become mothers or it can be a time when women feel helpless and even traumatized by the journey. I want women to feel heard and respected. I also want them to have access to the resources they need to be happy and healthy.” Jane states, “I feel CCM Health is committed to respecting the variety of choices women have and they give women and their families choices in their care.”
Jane and her husband, Dan, have raised their family in Clara City for the past 25 years and love living in a rural community. Jane also teaches nurse-midwifery at Bethel University. When she is not practicing or teaching, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, boating, fishing, gardening, reading, cooking and traveling.
If you would like to schedule an appointment with Jane Wrede, please call CCM Health at 320-269-8877 for more information. Jane will be seeing patients in Montevideo and Clara City.
