CCM Health is proud to partner with the Minnesota Milk Bank for Babies to become a community breast milk depot in Southwest Minnesota. The CCM Health Milk Depot provides a safe and convenient location for approved breast milk donors to drop off frozen breast milk donations that will help nourish infants throughout the region. 

How the CCM Health Milk Depot Works
The CCM Health Milk Depot serves as a collection and temporary storage site for donor milk.  Milk is transported from CCM Health to the MN Milk Bank where it is then processed. Donor milk undergoes thorough screening, pasteurization, and testing before it is distributed to hospitals and families in need.

Who Can Donate? 
Lactating mothers who are interested in donating their milk may qualify to become milk donors. First, they must complete the donor screening and approval process through the Minnesota Milk Bank for Babies. Potential donors complete a health history screening and blood testing that is covered by the MMB, to ensure safety for recipient infants. Once approved, donors can schedule a convenient drop-off at CCM Health. Donated milk is safely stored before being transported to the MMB for processing. 

At CCM Health, we recognize that some families may wish to donate breast milk following the loss of an infant as a meaningful way to honor their baby’s memory and help others. In partnership with the MN milk bank, bereaved mothers may have the option to donate milk for research and education purposes through a modified donation process. Our team is available to provide compassionate guidance and support families in whatever feels right for them during this difficult time.
