CCM Health Welcomes General Surgeon, Yuan Stevenson, MD

CCM Health is excited to welcome Yuan Stevenson, MD to their team of providers!  Dr. Stevenson is a graduate of Gordon College, Wenham, MA and Temple University School of Medicine, Philadelphia, PA.  She completed her residency at Guthrie Clinic – Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, PA and completed her fellowship at the University of Louisville, Louisville, KY.  Dr. Stevenson is board certified on the American Board of Surgery. 

Dr. Stevenson was drawn to the medical profession because she yearned for a career that is both highly practical and intellectually stimulating.  She enjoys working with her hands and relieving others of their pain and suffering. Dr. Stevenson has always been very intentional in acquiring a breadth of skills that equip her to deal with surgical settings.  She enjoys the “bread-and-butter” general surgeries and endoscopy procedures as well as cases unique to practice settings with limited specialty availability.  She is passionate about bringing endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) and endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) to the region.  Yuan has always wanted to be a general surgeon that would serve a rural community. “I feel my personal values are very much aligned with the mission of CCM Health to provide a lifetime of quality personalized care. The Montevideo area is the community that I always envisioned myself to be part of, where I want to raise my kids,” shared Dr. Stevenson. “I love to practice medicine where my patients may be my neighbors, friends from church, or folks I will see in the grocery store and restaurants.”

Dr. Stevenson grew up in Beijing, China but spent most of the past decade in Pennsylvania. She enjoys cooking, playing the Kalimba (a simple wooden instrument that sounds like a music box), and making wire wrapping jewelry. Her husband and their soon to be three-year-old son, Jonathan (Bear Bear) are very much looking forward to the camping and hiking opportunities in the area. Yuan also sleeps on a wooden pillow! Dr. Stevenson joins the CCM Health Surgery Department alongside Dr. Eleazar Briones. They offer a variety of general surgery procedures to the surrounding region.
