CCM Health Brings a New Little Free Library to Montevideo

CCM Health is excited to announce the opening of a new Little Free Library at the main entrance of its Montevideo clinic. Starting Labor Day, community members and patients can enjoy free access to books for all ages, right outside the main clinic entrance.

This new addition is part of the worldwide Little Free Library program, a nonprofit movement that began in 2009 and now includes more than 150,000 registered libraries in over 120 countries. Each Little Free Library operates on a simple premise: Take a book, share a book. The program’s mission is to expand access to books, inspire a love of reading, and strengthen community connections.

A Unique Library with Local Roots
CCM Health’s library is especially unique. Rather than a traditional book-exchange box, this Little Free Library is housed in a retired Minnesota Star Tribune newspaper vending box. The box has been upcycled and customized to hold shelves of books, giving new life to a piece of Minnesota history while providing a creative way to share the joy of reading.

How It Works
The library is open to everyone in the Montevideo community. Visitors are welcome to:

Take a book to read and enjoy.
Leave a book when they can, sharing quality titles with others.
Help keep the library tidy by organizing or removing worn books.
Use the space respectfully: flyers, ads, and oversized or unreadable books are not allowed.

These simple guidelines ensure the library remains a welcoming and valuable resource for patients, visitors, and neighbors alike.
