CCM Health Speech Pathologist, Gretchen Reeves Involved in Pioneer PBS Documentary

CCM Health’s Speech Pathologist Supervisor, Gretchen Reeves, was recently interviewed and will be part of the Pioneer PBS’s newest documentary “Birkey’s Brain.”

“Birkey’s Brain” a documentary by award-wining producer, Amanda Anderson, focuses on retired physician, Tom Birkey, and his wife Doris Thompson. In the documentary, they share their journey with Alzheimer’s. Gretchen Reeves was interviewed for the film and shares her expertise on providing memory care in western Minnesota.

“It was an honor to be interviewed regarding the memory care services available not only at CCM Health but also in our community,” shared Gretchen Reeves, CCM Health’s Speech-Language Pathology Supervisor who oversees its Memory Care Clinic. “At a recent MAMLN event, Dr. Birkey approached one of our members and said he’d like to share his journey with Alzheimer’s with the public.  That discussion led to Pioneer PBS producing a 14-minute video.”

The documentary will be featured at the Millennium Theater in Montevideo, Minnesota on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 with free showings at both 2:00pm and 6:00pm.
