Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital (CCMH) is officially CCM Health!

CCM Health better reflects the organization as they are more than just a hospital. “Ever since anyone can remember, our organization has been called Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital, “said CEO Brian Lovdahl, “Of course, we are much more than a hospital. We have four clinics, we own an ambulance, we own home care. We have a wide array of services that we offer.” Helping people be healthy must be more than just provider visits, CCM Health aims to help provide opportunities for healthy, active living. CCM Health’s name change reflects the organization’s growing commitment to all aspects of physical, social, and mental health. Visit their new website, ccmhealthmn.com or follow their Facebook and Instagram page.

CCM Health will be at the Chippewa County fair presenting information on Medicare Wellness visits on Wednesday, July 31st at 4:00pm; Thursday August 1st their Registered Dietitian, Cheri Ness will be presenting “Words to Eat By” at 3:00pm; and Friday August 2nd there will be another Medicare presentation at 3:00pm. CCM Health will also be sponsoring an inflatable obstacle course, kid-friendly activities, and providing a fruit of the day. On Saturday August 3rd there will be a complimentary yoga class in the park at the fairgrounds led by Candice Clemens followed by a 5k/3k Color Run/Walk! Everyone is invited to join the fun no matter what your fitness level may be!

CCM Health created a community garden located behind the ambulance garage on Ashmore Avenue. The garden has 450 feet of perennial fruit bushes, a 12-fruit tree orchard, and a small vegetable garden. The produce is all free to the public to harvest and eat fresh. They invite you to take a walk through the garden and find out for yourself.

The CCM Health community garden now contains raspberries, honeyberries, jostaberries, saskatoon berries, blackberries, apples, pears, plums, cherries, tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, and squash. Next year they plan to add an asparagus and rhubarb patch, a small playground, seating, and raised garden beds for community members.

CCM Health has started construction on the CCM Wellness Center, a 35,000 square foot facility that will contain a walking track, cardio equipment, and strength training equipment. It will contain a sport court, a racquetball court, and a studio for yoga, spin, or other fitness classes. A demonstration kitchen will be built to educate on how to cook healthy food. A social gathering area will also contain an area where children, under parent supervision, will have a large play area. A conference room will be able to be used for educational purposes or community presentations. The expected opening date is early 2020.

CCM Health has been busy cultivating a bright future. Their name may have changed, but their dedication hasn’t. With an emphasis on enhancing the overall health of the community, CCM Health will continue to be your local, trusted, health care team.
