CCM Health Welcomes Robert Johnson, MD, FACS, FASMBS to Their Physician Team
CCM Health is honored to welcome Robert Johnson, MD, FACS, FASMBS to its team of physicians. Dr. Johnson attended medical school at the University Medical School, Duluth Campus and completed his general surgeon residency at New Hanover Medical Center in Wilmington, North Carolina. He completed his fellowship training at the Minnesota Institute for Minimally Invasive Surgery. Dr. Johnson specializes in general surgery, bariatric surgery, foregut/reflux surgery, and advanced endoscopy.
Dr. Johnson is a board-certified surgeon and a member of the American Foregut Society and the Society of the American Gastrointestinal & Endoscopic Surgeons. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
Beginning in July, Dr. Johnson will provide consultations at CCM Health clinics in Montevideo and Clara City. Surgical procedures will be performed at CCM Health in Montevideo.
The opportunity to help others, build genuine relationships, and help people feel better is what drew Dr. Johnson to a career in healthcare. Growing up, he looked up to the providers in his community and saw the pride and trust they brought to the people they served. Today he is passionate about getting to know his patients and caring for them through every stage of life.
Dr. Johnson values CCM Health’s ability to expand advanced services while maintaining the personal connection of a rural health system. “I love the personal connection that comes with caring for people in a rural community,” said Dr. Johnson. “It is rewarding to be part of a team that knows its patients, listens to their needs, and works together toward the shared goal of providing the best care possible.”
In his free time, Dr. Johnson enjoys spending time with his wife and four children and staying involved in his children’s activities. He also enjoys surfing, kiteboarding, skiing, and coaching youth hockey.
Dr. Johnson will provide general surgery and surgical care at CCM Health in Montevideo.
