CCM Health Launches OB Connect to Offer More Convenient Prenatal Care
Expanding its comprehensive maternal care services, CCM Health launches OB Connect to help eligible patients stay connected with their pregnancy care team from home.
After a successful trial with patients throughout Southwest Minnesota, CCM Health is now offering OB Connect to more patients who would like added convenience during pregnancy while still receiving trusted, local care from CCM Health’s OB team.
OB Connect gives eligible patients access to at-home equipment, including a blood pressure monitor, measuring tape, and fetal heart rate monitor. These tools help patients take part in their care between visits and share important updates with their care team. The program may also allow some prenatal appointments to be completed virtually, when appropriate.
“OB Connect is about making prenatal care more convenient while keeping patients closely connected to their care team,” said Nicole Peters, BSN, RN, PHN, Director of Ambulatory Services at CCM Health. “For many families across our region, travel time, work schedules, weather, and family needs can make appointments more challenging. This program gives patients another option for receiving high-quality pregnancy care in a way that fits their lives.”
The program is intended for patients who meet certain health and pregnancy guidelines. CCM Health’s OB care team will help determine if OB Connect is a good fit for each patient.
Through OB Connect, patients can complete some parts of their prenatal care from home while continuing to receive in-person care when needed. The program is designed to support safety, education, and communication throughout pregnancy.
“Pregnancy is an exciting time, but it can also come with questions and uncertainty,” said Jenna Erickson, APRN, CNM, IBCLC, Nurse Midwife Provider at CCM Health. “OB Connect gives patients more ways to stay involved in their care. It helps them feel supported between visits and gives our team another way to check in, answer questions, and guide patients through their pregnancy journey.”
CCM Health offers a full range of pregnancy and birth services, including prenatal care, nurse midwifery care, birth planning, waterbirth options, lactation and infant feeding support, and newborn care. OB Connect adds another way for patients and families to receive personalized care close to home.
