At CCM Health, our philosophy of family-centered care offers women and their families a positive birthing experience. We offer labor, delivery and recovery in one convenient and comfortable room. We have an experienced Obstetrics/Birthing Services and Gynecology team of physicians and midwives to accommodate you, new baby, and your family.

A Safe and Comfortable Place for You and Your Newborn

With an emphasis on comfort and safety for both mothers and newborns, the labor and delivery suites at CCM Health Montevideo Hospital and Clinic are designed to make your birthing experience as pleasant and safe as possible. Whether you’re a first-time mom or this is your fourth pregnancy, our Obstetrics/Birthing Services and Gynecology team will help you manage your health during the pregnancy, monitor the baby’s health, and safely guide you through your labor and delivery.

Waterbirths

CCM Health is excited to share that we have updated our birthing suites to provide waterbirth deliveries for families!

Amenities in Your Birthing Room

CCM Health offers family-centered birthing and maternity care, which means we provide your existing family and the new baby with safe and comfortable surroundings during your labor and delivery. Our beautiful birthing suites are private rooms with large windows, private bath and whirlpool tub, a daybed, TV/DVD, refrigerator, and WiFi. We’ll provide you and your family with an online birth photo and a celebratory supper with birthday cake and a gift bag.

The birthing room is designed to simplify the delivery process, allowing you to spend more time with your newborn immediately after delivery. We also encourage skin-to-skin contact immediately after birth for that special first bonding opportunity.

Bring Your Baby Into the World Safely

Your individual plan of care could take advantage of various pain control methods we utilize, such as epidurals, nitrous oxide, and intravenous medications. For more natural pain relief and delivery, we can supply you with a whirlpool tub, a birthing ball, and a birthing stool. We welcome and encourage you to invite your support people into the birthing room to help you through your labor and delivery.

Your plan is developed between you and your provider. If needed, we have the capability to perform cesareans. Our medical technology is up-to-date and designed to keep you and your baby safe. This includes a fetal monitoring system, Cuddles Infant Security system, infant warmers and oximeters. Our Obstetrics and Birthing Services team of nurses and providers are Neonatal Resuscitation Certified. We also have a lactation specialist on staff to help you with breastfeeding and related issues.

Educational Opportunities for New Parents

At CCM Health we practice family-centered maternity care.  Your new family is very important to us and we want to provide you with the most positive birth experience possible. We offer expectant parent and lactation classes designed to prepare you for the exciting weeks ahead by giving you the knowledge you will need to make some very important decisions for you and your new baby. We cover a variety of topics which focus on pregnancy, labor, delivery and care of your newborn.

We also offer lactation classes to give you the knowledge on the benefits and facts of breastfeeding.
