Occupational Therapy

CCM Health Occupational Therapy Services in Montevideo, MN

Helping You Live Life to the Fullest

Occupational therapy seeks to help people across the lifespan participate in necessary, purposeful, and meaningful activities, or “occupations”, so that they can live their life to the fullest. Occupational therapy practitioners help clients maximize their independence in any personal care, work, play, or leisure task despite any injury, illness, or disability they may be living with.

Treatment Philosophy

Occupational therapy practitioners have a holistic perspective, in which all aspects of the person and environment are considered when establishing goals. We see the whole person—physical, mental, emotional, cultural, and spiritual health, and the environment in which they are living to help promote engagement, participation, and health.

We believe in the “client centered” approach, in which the client, with the help of the occupational therapy practitioner, identifies his or her own priorities and desired goals. Our team works collaboratively with the patient or caregiver to teach strategies to manage conditions so that he or she can live their life to the fullest. By valuing and respecting client input, we can more effectively guide interventions which ultimately will lead to increased satisfaction and quality of life.

Helping You Reach Your True Potential

Occupational therapy practitioners work closely with the entire healthcare team to assist in meeting all of your needs. Occupational therapy intervention aims to restore function and/or adapt/compensate for loss of function so that you can continue to live your life to the fullest.

We are proud to offer specialized occupational therapy services locally for our patients. Our occupational therapists help our patients recover from acute events, surgeries, chronic health condition, or disabilities and support their goals of living life as independently as possibly.

Scope of Practice

Occupational therapy practitioners at CCM Health are certified by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy and licensed by the State of Minnesota. Demonstration of continued professional development is mandated for the maintenance of the certification and licensure.

Occupational therapy intervention begins with a provider referral. Many times, a referral can be obtained by simply calling your primary health care provider and asking for a referral. We pride ourselves in working with people of all ages from babies to older adults, and all types of diagnoses/disabilities.
